About

We love sharing wine and food.

Jack has been a wine enthusiast for years and he loves to share his interest (which also requires lots and lots of research – and who doesn’t like research?!). His personal wine blog has followers in 28 countries (check out the link on the left). Kate is a lover of fine foods and favors local flair – her culinary interests developed during her time living in South Africa and later, back in the US, working in several fine dining restaurants. Nowadays Kate enjoys food and local flavors of all cultures when traveling and here at home, she also serves on the board of Slow Food Pittsburgh.

While Jack would love to have a dinner party every weekend, our house is only large enough to accommodate four people including us (and can you imagine all of the dishes?!). So in order to enjoy wine and a meal with friends, we realized we needed a different space. Rather than moving (still would require those pesky dishes) we hatched an idea to approach some of the great chefs in our region about a private dinner with a fixed menu matched to wines picked by Jack. And the Sunday Supper Series was born.

Since starting in November 2009 we have hosted more than 25 Sunday Suppers at various local restaurants, galleries and private spaces and shared more than 120 different wines. We have traveled throughout France to South Africa to Australia and the U.S. and back again. Special dinners have focused on women winemakers and 90+ rated wines.

We have loved spending Sundays with old friends and welcoming new ones. There is more to come and we look forwarding to toasting with you at a future dinner.

Cheers,
Kate and Jack
